Continued with practicing our flagpole letters for printing. We learned a new printing warm-up for hand strenghtening called "hot seat" and also did pancake pushes, spider push-ups and lobster claws. We practiced the flagpole letters by printing them on gel bags.
In math we did the daily calendar. Please practice how to read a calendar in order to find the date at home.
We continued to discuss the idea of "I am.." and worked on our sketchbook pages. Check out the song, "I am" under videos in the video section!
The prefrontal cortex is the "wise leader" because it helps us makes good decisions.
The Amygdala is the "body guard" because it helps to keep us safe. It tells us to fight, flee or freeze. (we learned ways to calm down and release the Amygdala.
The Hippocampus is your "keeper of memories". It saves everything important that you want to remember and saves happy memories.

The students will be creating collaged covers for their visual journals tomorrow. Please help your child collect a variety of images that help represent their identity -- favourite things, activities, family photos, favourite foods, and words are just some ideas. Images can be photos, drawings, magazine clippings, or printed pictures off the web (anything 2-D that can be laminated works!). Thank you so much for your help!
