spooky, moon, food, cool, boo, good, look, too, soon, took, book, school
All of these words contain the oo pattern. Can your child tell you the two sounds made by oo ? Please practice these a little each night. It is most important that they can be recognized by sight to read them. Once your child can read them please practice spelling them. This can be done through body spelling, chanting, making the words with play dough, drawing the words in sand and so many other fun ways! Please continue to review the sounds made by the oo pattern by watching the oo videos under word work on the blog.
Today we:
-got laptops and practiced logging onto the laptop and getting to the Raz Kids website then entering the teacher name and our passwords. This was REALLY TRICKY for many of us. The blue Raz kid log in cards were sent home last week. It would be really beneficial if your kids can practice Raz Kids at home and try logging on independently!
-Had Art with Mrs. Ferarri, where we made really cool poppies for a Remembrance Day bulletin board.
-did our daily numeracy time. Can your child count aloud to 100 by 1's? Can he/she count by 2's to 20? Count by 5's to 100? Count by 10's to 100? Keep practicing! It helps to count aloud as you are driving in the car or to watch the math videos under the videos section!
-continued working on our individual PoWer of 10 cards.
-did poetry where we circled our punctuation in red and orange and our rhyming words in purple.
-had some catch up/must do time and free centres to finish our day.
