Our Words of the week are:
This week we are reviewing all short vowel words that we have learned so far and the sounds made by each of the short vowels. Our short vowel words are: at, as, am and, can, did, fun, get, got, him, his, in, is, it, on, of, let, ran, us, up just, jump, must, best, went, help.
Please continue to practice all of these. It is most important that they can be recognized by sight to read them. Once your child can read them please practice spelling them. This can be done through body spelling, chanting, making the words with play dough, drawing the words in sand and so many other fun ways! Please continue to review the sounds made by the short vowels by watching videos under word work on the blog and having your child show you the different action made by the short vowels!
Today we:
-practiced our big books.
-did free choice Friday in gym.
-watched Alpha blocks to review our letter sounds.
-finished off our art.
-had buddies where we created Venn Diagrams.
-students who were done art got some centre time to reward their good time management!
