Please gather a variety of images to collage the cover of your child's visual journals. These images can represent their favourite things, interests, memories, etc. They could be photos, magazine cut-outs, printed images, words, or drawings. Please send these images to school in a bag or envelope ASAP.
Our Words of the week are:
just, jump, must, best, went, help
Please continue to practice these a little over the weekend. It is most important that they can be recognized by sight to read them. Once your child can read them please practice spelling them. This can be done through body spelling, chanting, making the words with play dough, drawing the words in sand and so many other fun ways! Please continue to review the sounds made by the short vowels by watching videos under word work on the blog and having your child show you the different action made by the short vowels!
Today we:
-read and discussed The Squiggly Story By Andrew Larsen.
-had a wonderful presentation with Andrew Larsen. He taught us so much, including the fact that we are all authors once we get our ideas down and that we are the boss of our own stories and any seeds of ideas can make a story. We are so excited and inspired to continue with our own squiggle stories!
-started to create our own squiggle stories.
-had buddies where we completed our buddy portraits.
