Our Words of the week are: good, soon, look, took, book, food, school
we will be exploring the sounds made by the oo letter pattern. Can your child remember what sounds oo makes? Please watch the videos under the word work session and practice these words a little bit each night. Please remember that the main priority is on learning to read these words by sight and once your child becomes confident with this they can practice spelling them!
Today We:
-had literacy stations.
-had a sharing circle where we talked about our weekends.
-discussed the oo letter pattern and the sounds that it makes.
-continued our sensory paragraphs describing the ridge walk.
-started some circus stations in gym.
-practiced adding 1, 2 and 3 to a number by using the counting on strategy. Can your child do + 1, 2 and 3 facts by counting on?
-did a variety of mindfulness activities on Go Noodle for mindful Monday.
-did a "Feely Sock" experiment in Science where we had to use only our sense of touch to describe what was inside a sock, write what it reminds us of, and then make a guess of what it might be.
-practiced for the musical with the other grade one class.
Please and Thank you:
-a huge thank you to Hudson's Dad for coming in for reading support today.
