This week we have One World Drumming in for a Drumming Residency in all grade 1, 2 and 4 classrooms! We will be having a sharing assembly for drumming this Friday March 9 from 8-8:45am! All parents are welcome to attend!
OurWords of the week are:
high, sight, night, right, write and kite
Can your child tell you the sounds made by igh and ite?" Does he/she remember the difference between write and right? When is each one used?
Today we:
-had catch up time for our literacy stations.
-learned our new words of the week and letter patterns and watched some short videos on the blog to help reinforce the letter pattern.
-learned our new poems of the week, "Zite the Kite" and "The Doubles Song"
-had our first day of drumming.
-started to learn our doubles facts and some strategies to help us remember our doubles facts. Can your child tell you the sums of 1+1, 2+2, 3+3, 4+4 and 5+5?
-had our library book exchange.
-had music with Mrs. Dennill.
-Ended our day practicing for the Spring Concert with all of the grade ones as a superstorm!
