Our Words of the week are:
see, eat, need, week, team, feel, peace
All of these words contain one of the two "Squealy E sisters". The ee and ea sisters love to go everywhere together and squeal when they are there! EEEEEEE! This is fun! Can your child tell you how the sound made by ee and ea? Please practice these words a little each day. It is most important that they can be recognized by sight to read them. Once your child can read them please practice spelling them. Please continue to review the ee and ea letter pattern videos under word work on the blog.
Today we:
-had literacy centres. Ask your child which station he/she was on?
-practiced our new poem called "Colour Song"
-watched some of the ee and ea videos on the blog.
-Reflected on the differences between needs and wants and did visual journal pages to demonstrate our understanding.
-had our daily numeracy time. Can your child count aloud by 2's to 20?
-had our library book exchange. Please help remind your child to return his/her library books each Monday.
-had music with Mrs. Dennill.
-had Mindful Monday where we discussed the Three Pillars of Respect: Respect of Self, Respect of Others and Respect of environment. Today we focused on what it means to be kind to yourself and ways we can be more kind to ourselves. It is an important reminder that we should treat ourselves the same way we would want a good friend to treat us.
