we will be exploring y endings on words all week. Today we discussed how y says e on the end of a two (or more) syllable word and y says i on the end of a one syllable word. Please watch the videos under the word work session and practice these words a little bit each night. Please remember that the main priority is on learning to read these words by sight and once your child becomes confident with this they can practice spelling them!
Today We:
-had literacy stations.
-had a sharing circle about our weekends.
-discussed and did a shared writing example of how we can add sensory imagery to writing, then worked to add sensory details to our journal writing.
-continued gymnastics.
-worked on the addition strategy of counting on and practiced adding 2 to numbers by counting on by playing a game.
-met with our ACAD artist Mike Grills so he could tell us about how he uses texture in Art.
-did a winter art project where we made toques and mittens out of the variety of textured materials that were sent in.
Please and Thank you:
-thank you to all parents who contributed textured materials for our art project today!
