Today We:
-learned our new poem of the week and word wall words of the week and practiced chanting and body spelling the new words of the week.
-learned about our new spelling chunk-the "sh" digraph. Ask your child to tell you the very important sound made by this diagraph and check out the videos in the word work section!
-had a sharing circle and journals. This week we are focusing on the writing goals of adding juicy words and using lower case letters correctly in our writing. Ask your child to tell you- When are the only time capital letters should be used in writing? How did you do at using capitals and lower case letters correctly in your journal today?
-played ringette in gym.
-had our daily calendar time. Can your child tell you how we made 55 cents today?

Canstruction
Canstruction Club just began this week with the grade 5 and 6’s who signed up! We will be designing and creating a structure out of non-perishable food items as part of a contest in partner with the Mayor’s 28th Annual Christmas Food Drive for the Calgary Food Bank. The project is called Canstruction Jr. We are asking for donations to help us build our structure and are specifically looking for green items such as cans and boxes that are green in colour. A variety of sizes would be great. Thanks in advance for your support with this! We look forward to showing your our finished product.
Please contact Mrs.Blanchard or Mrs.Hammond with with questions.
