Today We:
-Attended the Grade 2's Kugaaruk assembly, can you believe they raised $750! The school voted to let the community of Kugaaruk decide how to use the money
-looked at a new word work pattern, the calm sounds /al/ /all/ /au/ /aw/. You can find some videos to support these concepts on the blog.
-learned a new poem of the week about birds of prey.
-learned about the traditional first nations planting method, the three sisters planting and planted some seeds: beans, corn, and squash. These plants work together to support each other. We are excited to watch them grow!
-started working with the cuisenaire rods in math to talk about equivalencies
-Journaled about our weekend and what we do for our environment, since Earth Day was on Monday. We also had time for author's chair to share our writing.

We are in need of some volunteers to help us with a couple upcoming field trips!
Our May 4th Ridge walk is an opportunity for students to observe the seasonal changes.
The June 14th Urban Community Tour will be a trip downtown to explore Calgary's history and landmarks.
