Important Information
Please consider contributing valentine craft decorations to bring to Atria Retirement home tomorrow. In addition to sharing a musical performance and reading with the residents, we will be crafting valentine cards with them. Contributions might include stickers, ribbon, rhinestones, foam stickers etc. Thank you in advance!
-we will be doing a class valentine exchange next Wednesday February 14 in the morning. Students are not required to bring Valentines but if they choose to exchange please make sure that they bring 19 for each member of our class and do not address them to individual students. Instead, they can write "To my friend" or "To my classmate" or leave the name section blank.
Words of the week are:
sing, bring, going, sang, sung, long, song, length
Due to the short week, we are continuing to explore the "ng" sound. Can your child name the sounds made by the ing, and, one, ung and eng clusters?
Today we:
-did a printing lesson where we practiced spelling our words of the week using correct letter formation.
-continued playing basketball in gym.
-had a lesson with Miss. Connelly about Chinese New Year, an important tradition that she celebrates.
-continued to learn our 10 buddy facts with a dice game, we rolled a dice and then figured out the corresponding 10 buddy. We practiced writing equations and filling in visual ten frames to represent these facts.
-had our library book exchange *please help to remind your child to return his/her book each Monday!
-had music with Mrs. Dennill.
-had a superstorm with all grade one students, where we learned about Pop Art. Can your child tell you what "pop" stands for in pop art?
-prepared for our field trip tomorrow by practicing our songs one last time.
