Our Words of the week are:
she, share, shine, shop, wish show
All of these words contain the sh digraph. Can your child tell you how the sound made by sh? Please practice these a little each day. It is most important that they can be recognized by sight to read them. Once your child can read them please practice spelling them. This can be done through body spelling, chanting, making the words with play dough, drawing the words in sand and so many other fun ways! Please continue to review the sh videos under word work on the blog.
Today we:
-had our daily literacy centers.
-learned our new poem of the week "Shirley Sheppard"
-practiced our new words of the week by body spelling and chanting them.
-did reflection in our math journals about sorting rules.
-had a sharing circle where we shared about our weekends.
-had our daily numeracy time. Can your child show you how to make 49 cents with coins?
-had our library book exchange.
-had music with Mrs. Dennill.
-discussed National child day and which rights all children have and why. Check out the rights and responsibilities videos under the Social Studies section!
-watched video clips from the word work section abut the sh digraph.
