Words of the week are:
who, what, when, where, why, how
We will be discussing the sound that is made by the "wh" digraph as well as how to properly use question words in writing. Can your child tell you what the question words are? Please practice these words a little each day. It is most important that they can be recognized by sight to read them. Once your child can read them please practice spelling them. Please continue to review the "wh" letter pattern videos under word work on the blog.
Today we:
-had literacy stations.
-learned our new poem called "All About You".
-explored gymnastics on the equipment.
-watched some of the "wh" videos on the blog.
-learned about the different question words and practiced spelling them using body spelling and chanting.
-continued to practice adding 1 more and subtracting 1 less from a number. Students are getting very efficient at this!
-had our daily numeracy time. Can your child show you how to make 24 tallies?
-had our library book exchange. Please remember that library is each Monday!
-had music with Mrs.Dennill.
-had Mindful Monday where we read a book about community and discussed the role that the Humane Society plays in helping the community. We also discussed how we can be good citizens with animals.
