-please remember to return your home reading bags and word rings each day!
Our Words of the week are:
week see need each read eat
Please practice these a little each night. It is most important that they can be recognized by sight to read them. Once your child can read them please practice spelling them. These letter chunks make a squealy long e sound (I sometimes call them the squealing e sisters!) Check out the videos in word work under the blog and review these words tonight.
Today We:
-searched our poem for word wall words and colour words and circled them.
-reviewed the squealy ee and ea sounds and continued our word hunt.
-read a book called "My Blue is Happy" and had a discussion about how different colours can make people feel differently. Then we named colours and discussed how they make us feel and why.
-played a game in math called "Guess My Tricky Element". Students had to build a repeating pattern out of geometric shapes and then put in a error (or tricky element into one of the parts. Their partner had to find the tricky element in the pattern. Try this game at home! Can your child tell you what the core of their pattern is? How many elements are in the core? What is the tricky element in their pattern?
-had French.
-made predictions about how we think rainbows occur. Wrote and drew our predictions.
-continued to work on our creative color wheels.
