-please remember to return your home reading bags and word rings each day!
Our Words of the week are:
week see need each read eat
Please practice these a little each night. It is most important that they can be recognized by sight to read them. Once your child can read them please practice spelling them. These letter chunks make a squealy long e sound (I sometimes call them the squealing e sisters!) Check out the videos in word work under the blog and review these words tonight.
Today We:
-did punctuation pause and rhyme time in our poetry. Ask your child what colour they circle each of these in and the meaning of each colour!
-did some AMAZING writing! We used the idea from the book we read yesterday called My Blue is Happy and wrote our own ideas about how different colours make us feel and why. I was blown away by the amazing writing that I saw! Such incredible progress has been made since the start of the year!
-had our daily calendar time. Can your child show you how to draw base ten blocks to make 49?
-had music.
-had library
-Continued working on our creative colour wheels. Most students finished and they are looking fantastic!
Please and Thank you:
-We could really use more volunteers for reading support. If you are able to come in please let Leanne Trevis know.
