Spring pictures are tomorrow!
Our top 3 from today:
Building a tower that was taller than me- Santosh
Making a stool- Evan
Sorting materials- Marin
A big thank you to our 3 amazing parent volunteers!! We had lot of fun, and learned a lot from Scientist Penney. The students went to 5 different centers, and participated in multiple learning activities. The last item, was they were challenged to make a stool, from only newspaper and tape, and the test was... It had to hold Mrs, K!!! I was very impressed, all the stools were successful!! (I will post some pictures tomorrow)
I asked the students to explain to me how to make a stool,
Step 1- Make a 'staple' leg
Step 2- Tape around it
Step 3- Put tape on top
Step 4- Put a roof on
Ask your child if there are any important details missing from the stool directions?

Words of the Week
Each week we will focus on a set of high frequency words that we are using in our poems and morning message. Feel free to practice these and look for them in your own books! This week we are focusing on the "calm a" /aw/au/al/ spelling chunk.

Please and Thank You!
Volunteer Opportunities:
- We would love to welcome morning literacy volunteers into our classroom from 8:00 to 8:30 each morning. If there is one morning a week that works for you, wonderful, but drop-ins are always welcome, too! Just let me know the day before, please. This role will involve helping to create sight word rings, as well as reading one-on-one with students
