Reminder tomorrow is FUN lunch!
Today We:
- searched our poems for words from our word wall and our new sight words for the week
-continued reading Pirates Past Noon, tomorrow will hopefully find out if Annie and Jack can escape from the pirates!
-practiced our new poem, Birds of Prey, using robot voices and then using expression!
-In math we used our knowledge of doubles to look at near doubles, such as:
6+6=12 so 6+7=13
We can use 'friendly' numbers to help us with mental math. We challenged our knowledge of near doubles with a soccer team word problem. We had two teams, but one team was missing a player. Students had to think of the possible number of players each team had. Some students were able to come up with several answers!
-continued comparing urban and rural communities. To remember what the words mean:
-'curb' for urban
-Rooster for Rural
-had our second session of PoWer hour this afternoon!
Sight Words
