we will be exploring the sounds made by the oo letter pattern. Can your child remember what sounds oo makes? Please watch the videos under the word work session and practice these words a little bit each night. Please remember that the main priority is on learning to read these words by sight and once your child becomes confident with this they can practice spelling them!
Today We:
-had literacy stations.
-were word detectives and found word wall words and the two different oo sounds in our poetry.
-edited our winter sensory writing for sneaky capitals, then revised it to add adjectives and finally published our finished work by printing it in our neatest printing.
-had music with Mrs. Dennill.
-continued to work on the strategy of counting on to add three to a number.
-had PoWer Hour. In PoWer Hour we:
-in Computer Programming I almost finished all of the levels.
-made dream catchers out of clay in Nature Explorers.
-made crayon pictures and melted them with blow dryers in Canvas imaginations.
-finished cards and made sticky notes to put on the bulletin board in Give.
-did the spaghetti test in Yoga.
-explored a new world in Mine Craft.
-drew our battle field in WWII.
-made fabric clothes for our drawings in ReStyled.
-played Mancala, Goblet,Pentagon and Blockus in Strategic Games.
-made pictures to go with our story in Theatre Sports.
