who, what, when, where, why, how
We will be discussing the sound that is made by the "wh" digraph as well as how to properly use question words in writing. Can your child tell you what the question words are? Please practice these words a little each day. It is most important that they can be recognized by sight to read them. Once your child can read them please practice spelling them. Please continue to review the "wh" letter pattern videos under word work on the blog.
Today we:
-started our day with music.
-had gymnastics with Ms. Heagy and Mrs. Hewitt's grade two classes where they taught us some skills and balances.
-had art with Mrs. Ferrari where we finished our line art.
-continued our Magic Treehouse read aloud with our student teacher Miss Connelly.
-practiced our five w's by writing questions to Miss Connelly in journals and then got to learn lots about her when she answered our questions.
-had our daily numeracy time. Can your child show you how to make 34 using tallies?
-did rhyme time and punctuation pause by circling rhymes and punctuation in our poetry.
