Our Words of the week are: good, soon, look, took, book, food, school
we will be exploring the sounds made by the oo letter pattern. Can your child remember what sounds oo makes? Please watch the videos under the word work session and practice these words a little bit each night. Please remember that the main priority is on learning to read these words by sight and once your child becomes confident with this they can practice spelling them!
Today We:
-went on a sound hunt for oo words in print and did a word sort to put them into the two sound categories.
-had a very interesting presentation from Ms. Purkiss where she read a book called "Thinking Thoughts and Feeling Feelings" We discussed how everyone has their own thoughts and feelings but it is important to know the difference between a thought bubble and a speech bubble and use them at appropriate times.
-finished off our Mindful noses experiment from yesterday and discovered what each smell was.
-had music with Mrs. Dennill.
-went to library.
-visited the science fair.
Please and Thank you:
-a huge thank you to Rebecca's Mom for coming in for reading support today.
