Reminder: Field trip forms went home today, please return after the long weekend. Thanks!
If you can volunteer for a full day at Fish Creek Park please let us know ASAP! Thanks so much
Highlights:
-In Physical Education, we continued practiced our dribbling skills. Today we worked on being defensive while dribbling, using our arms and our body to protect our ball while still dribbling.
- In Math, we wrote inverse equations, such as " If 4+6= 10 then 10-6=4". Lots of students challenged themselves with making multiple sentences and creating sums greater then 10!
-We had lots of Science activities today!
-In the morning, we took five white gerber daisies and put each one in a cup with water. To ensure the variables of our experiment were constant, we added 10 drops of food colouring to four of the five cups. We've already observed some colour changes to the flowers in the red and blue food colouring water. Next week, will discuss the capillary system of the flowers to better understand what is happening in our experiment.
-This afternoon we were fortunate enough to have Kyla, Nolan's mom in Mrs. Morin. She's a biologist at the UofC, she brought in daphnea, a microscopic crustacean. We got the opportunity to observe them on the smartboard and see their heartbeats! Outside we looked for examples of living and non-living things and recorded our findings in our visual journals.
