-Art Homework-there will be no more class time to finish our Creative Colour Wheels. Students were given four hours to work on these in the past two weeks. -PD day tomorrow (no school for students)
-please remember to return your home reading bags and word rings each day!
Today We:
-had literacy stations.
-took a look at the "all family" for word work. We watched video clips on the all family (found in the videos section) and brainstormed all of the all words that we could think of and how to spell them.
-Read a book called called Alexander Who Used to be Rich Last Sunday. Ask your child why Alexander had money last week and doesn't now. What did Alexander choose to buy? Did he make good choices? Why or Why not?
-shared strategies for our Math word problem that we started last week and then finished the problem off.
-did our daily calendar routine. Can your child tell you how many days are in a week? How many months are in a year? What is the date on the calendar today? What would the date be one week from today?
-had French with Madame Pallesen where we worked on Iris videos.
-had 15 minutes to write numbers on a 100's chart as high as we could go. Ask your child which number he/she got to!
-learned about Transparent and opaque objects in Science and worked on visual journal pages. What does transparent mean? What does opaque mean? Check out the videos under the science section.

Canstruction
Canstruction Club just began this week with the grade 5 and 6’s who signed up! We will be designing and creating a structure out of non-perishable food items as part of a contest in partner with the Mayor’s 28th Annual Christmas Food Drive for the Calgary Food Bank. The project is called Canstruction Jr. We are asking for donations to help us build our structure and are specifically looking for green items such as cans and boxes that are green in colour. A variety of sizes would be great. Thanks in advance for your support with this! We look forward to showing your our finished product.
Please contact Mrs.Blanchard or Mrs.Hammond with with questions.
