Our Words of the week are:
she, share, shine, shop, wish show
All of these words contain the sh digraph. Can your child tell you how the sound made by sh? Please practice these a little each day. It is most important that they can be recognized by sight to read them. Once your child can read them please practice spelling them. This can be done through body spelling, chanting, making the words with play dough, drawing the words in sand and so many other fun ways! Please continue to review the sh videos under word work on the blog.
Today we:
-started our day with music with Mrs. Dennill.
-did punctuation pause and rhyme time in our poetry. Can your child identify the rhyming word in a poem?
-learned a new game in gym called Frogger. It involved using team work and cooperation to move a whole team across the gym using one two mats. I was VERY impressed with the awesome teamwork!
-read a book called "Imagine a Place" and then imagined our perfect classroom in our minds. Then, we wrote using sensory imagery about what our perfect classroom looks like, sounds like, smells like and feels like.
-had PoWer Hour. In PoWer Hour we:
- -got to use Boom Wackers in School of Rocks.
- -almost finished our robots in Lego Windstorms.
- -almost finished our growth mindset page and did some Go Noodles for our bodies and minds in PoWer Kids.
- -painted Christmas Balls in Masterpieces.
- -made wounds out of makeup, and painted nails in Cosmetology.
- -finished putting a string on nails in builders.
