Reminder: FUN Lunch Tomorrow!
Please return library books, all library books were due back May 29th. The first class to return all their library books will win a prize.
An important message from Mme Pallesen:
This Friday, in French class, students will be making videos for IRIS. We have been practicing the following:
· Saying hello (bonjour, salut)
· Introducing myself (je m'appelle ...)
· Counting up to 29 (some students can go higher)
· Body Parts
· Animals
· Saying goodbye (la fin, au revoir)
We have been using a mini-book as a guide. Students are bringing this mini-book home tomorrow so they can do some reviewing at home. (The mini-book can be kept at home as we have duplicates at school.) Students may not know everything in the mini-book, but are expected to know some of the items on each page.
Highlights:
-We learned our poem of the week Stop That Noise! and searched the poem for all the /oi/ and /oy/ words in the poem.
-Continued reading Night of the Ninjas.
-In math, we started looking at the concept of "equal". We read Equal Shmequal. To demonstrate equal with our bodies we created symmetrical yoga poses. We created equations that were equal on both sides such as 5+4=3+3+3. Tomorrow will use the balance scales to continue to represent this concept in different forms.
-In Physical Education, we introduced our Animal Ninja Warrior fitness stations.
-In Social Studies, we continued looking at Calgary landmarks to prepare for our upcoming field trip to downtown Calgary.
-We had our final POWer hour today and the showcases.
Sight Words
