who, what, when, where, why, how
We will be discussing the sound that is made by the "wh" digraph as well as how to properly use question words in writing. Can your child tell you what the question words are? Please practice these words a little each day. It is most important that they can be recognized by sight to read them. Once your child can read them please practice spelling them. Please continue to review the "wh" letter pattern videos under word work on the blog.
Today we:
-had literacy stations.
-continued to use the equipment to do gymnastics.
-did sketch book reflections about our time at the Humane Society.
-had our daily numeracy time. Can your child count aloud by 5's to 100?
-continued to practice the idea of 1 more/one less than a number and were introduced to how to figure out 2 more/2 less. Please practice this at home!
-were word detectives and hunted for word wall words in our poetry.
-read the book "Everybody Cooks Rice" and discussed how different families can have different food traditions.
